The majesty and grandeur of ships on the high seas bringing cargo to different ports must have been a wonderful sight. A Clipper was a very fast sailing ship of the 19th century that had multiple masts and a square rig. When fully rigged and riding a trade wind they could reach speeds of up to 16 knots this painting of two racing Clipper ships in full sail is a perfect example.
